Granted, a lot of what goes by the name of Particle Physics these days is so speculative and out of touch with reality that it absolutely has no place in any textbook, but a few important topics like neutrino masses that have become well established would have been good topics to cover. See all 4 brand new listings. Another thing that may be of concern to some is a rather limited number of problems in this textbook. If you’re looking for a clear and phyxics book in order to gain the basis of particle physics i’d suggest “Introduction to Elementary Particle Physics” by Alessandro Bettini or “Nuclear and Particle Physics” by W. Not at all as an introductory book. This self-contained text describes breakthroughs in our understanding of the structure and interactions of elementary particles.
There is very little room in the middle, and therefore it is very hard to come up with a suitable textbook that will do justice to the field and yet be accessible enough for upper-level undergraduates or beginning graduate students. Not quantum fields, but rather particles.

Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. I would have also liked if this textbook padticle a bit more up to date. I’m trying to avoid saying that they are fields because a field is a variable that can be assigned a number or spinor or some such thing; that’s not what I’m getting at here. The context is fluent and easy to follow, but you need to do marhin to get the ideas between calculations.
