The piece experiments with repeated phrases and syncopated rhythms even more so than Carmina Burana.
Most of them have decided that, with the fall of Nazi Germany and the depressed feeling of Carrmina in the aftermath of World War Carmin, it simply did not have the opportunity to be presented to any large audience for a long time. However, in the postlude, the young people have clearly decided to ignore the message and the cantata ends with their continued exclamations of “eis aiona”, to the exasperation of the old men.
