This book is about two lonely people Alec the cold hard lord of Belmore and the sweet young bumbling witch Joyous MacQuarrie, who tugged at his heartstrings and made his organized boring world go crazy. If Richard can survive, he might have discovered the one woman who can save him with a passion bright enough to burn the shadows from his heart.
Pink rose petals rain down on them every time they make love, interesting things happen when Joy sneezes, and statues come to life and dance on rooftops. The story was promising but little problems kept pulling me out of it.

Though he turned to fire when he tasted her petal-soft lips, he turned to ice when he discovered that this winsome lady was, in fact, a witch I had a little trouble with forgiving Alec his big moment of stupidity toward the end, but I appreciated the fact that his behavior was completely in character for him.
