Considering how much of a fan I am over movies, actors, and their stories, it was a wonderful aat to get as much information about theory and behind the scenes techniques. Read, highlight, and take notes, across web, tablet, and phone.
Our personal views provide a legitimate perspective, as long as we recognize and acknowledge how they may color our interpretation. It’s a great introduction on how to analyze movies, but might seem like common sense to those people who already have an understanding of film in this way. Very informative looiing detailed.

It was admittedly a bit clunky, but the better solution would have been to rewrite it, not remove it entirely–which leaves a gaping hole in what is otherwise admirable coverage of all the important topics. No eBook available Amazon.

The 2nd edition had an entire chapter on film theory and criticism. Seeing as it’s a textbook and not an interactive site, there is something lost in transitioning from paper to the actual moving material.
