ahuja So, while picking up this book, I had really high expectation from it. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Very Good written tells about every single story associated with virtuous Arjuna: That is the best part of this book. Plot from the jacket: The author could have easily glossed over the fact, like so many of us Indians like to do we like Arjuna damn too much to not ignore his failings.

It is engaging, entertaining and informative — all at the same time. I wish I was born in the Mahabharata period so that I could see that all happen with zestful eyes, even as a Nishada or a Suta.

In the first half of the book, it jumps around a lot, giving background stories for everything and while it is informative of the author to do that, it does not make for the best reading experience. I was expecting to have my mond blown but this was a huge let down. That being said, I realize that not everything has to be new, fresh and inventive to be enjoyable.
So much, that when Abhimanyu and Karna died, I literally cried. It is he who becomes the famed archer, he who cannot be won in battle, he who begets divine astras and who eventually emerges alive at the end of the Chanvramouli War. I liked the epic so much rajuna I read an abridged Telugu version of Mahabharata when I was just a seven-year old.
She holds Mahabharata to be one of its kind in the world of epic literature and has put together years bby research to give us this book in a beautiful seamless narration of the life of one of the greatest princes of all Indian mythology. Yet they connected and complimented each other very well to form a novel that can claim some acclaim.
