Jun 12, Peacegal rated it it was amazing. You cannot leaf through this book without marveling at nature. We see termites skillfully building in order to keep their mounds cool by presenting a broad surface area for morning and evening sun and a small surface area for hotter noonday sun. No trivia or quizzes yet. It was not very informative and lacked the details which could have made it more interesting. I also had no idea that Darwin discovered why coral goes thousands of feet deep into the ocean yet is only living at the top.
I know of no other paper that is so differentiated in details and the colours are so brilliant. Ingo Arndt found the time between his travels as a nature photographer around the world for an interview. Looking for beautiful books? On the other hand, the text is provided by someone who either does not recognize or does not want to acknowledge that he recognizes the design inferences that one can make from animal architecture, and who feels it necessary to make a wholly inappropriate and unwarranted quotation of the cliche that nothing makes sense apart from evolution even though animal architecture only makes sense from the point of view of a universe that is infused with design in which the creation imitates its creator.

The text is interesting and well-written, architetcure what makes it leap architefture a favoured, must buy for myself one day status is the remarkable photography. Or perhaps he is, and desperately quotes evolutionary dogma in order to convince himself that all of this creativity in creation can be shoehorned to support a bankrupt worldview instead of being viewed squarely and honestly arndf what it is.

There are at least a few genuine surprises and pleasures to be found in the photographs. I was lucky and did know him personally. The photographer was spectacular, but I was hoping for a few more photos. The photography of harvest mice homes, and weaver’s nests, of bowerbird’s bowers, and termite mounds, and caddis fly cases will make you question your weak human aesthetics.
In the process they create gorgeous nests, shelters, and habitats. As a student I have I sold the first pictures to book and magazine publishers. It would be great just to find someone to fund the project ….

The rest will be deleted immediately and no longer bothered me. My favorite section was Corals, Bivalves, and Snails.
Only if you know how an animal behaves and what might happen next, you can get good images. This applies in principle to all areas of nature photography.

I come very much around, but strangely enough I have never photographed polar bears. The book’s incoherence begins with the foreword, which promises that the theme of the book and its photographer is an ideal match.
That impressed and influenced me, because I am also a very structured person.
