I quite enjoyed this book, but expected more of a connection between all the tales than was present. And your review does justice to a great short story collection.

It never quite works hard enough to explain itself – we can all imagine what occurred or led to the circumstances of the story, yet we aren’t given rex details to formulate a general hypothesis. This book is kind of special to me. The final punchline falls flat because it’s aimed at the wrong character.

Twelve Red Herrings is exactly as the title says. For me, most had predictable ends. The ingenuineness of this review appears doubtful.
